HALAL PRODUCT CERTIFICATION

HALAL IMPLICATIONS

Halal has specific implications for different processing sectors.
1. Meat
2. Dairy
3. Fruit & vegetables
4. Grains & oilseeds
5. Ingredients sector
6. Animal by-products industry (consumer care product, industrial, chemicals)
7. Pharmaceuticals

Halal Certification Process

1. Complete and return application form and ingredient list.
2. HPDS will review all ingredients/raw materials/process techniques/sanitation
    file/CGMP/SSOP/CIP/HACCP documentation.
3. HPDS will set up initial visit for plant inspection.
4. If all of the above steps meet and conform to HPDS guidelines/procedures, an agreement
    including fees is negotiated.
5. Halal contract is drawn according to the company’s needs.
6. Upon receipt of signed contract and payment, Halal certificate is issued. This entitles your
    company to display the symbol of HPDS on any of your products certified in this contract.

Among many other things, HPDS requires

1. plant visitations
2. review of formulas and equipment
3. details regarding the source of your raw material
4. the right to audit documents pertaining to halal matters
